Since the discovery of crystal in 1676, this beautiful glass variation has been used for everything from decanters and glasses, to beautiful artwork like this crystal vase. This is quite a hefty decorative piece. I couldn't believe it's 13" high! This is one of those pieces that you can put in the corner, or high on a display shelf, and everybody who walks by it will remark on it. The design is of Tadeusz Kosciuszko (Thaddeus Kosciuszko). A true Polish and American hero. Read more about him on on wikipedia. A truly remarkable guy who tried to secure Poland's independence from Russia. He's responsible for setting up the West Point Academy. He died in 1817 from a fall and poor health.
