Polish Recipe: Mazurek Pomarańczowy (Orange Mazurka)

From the book "My Homemade Polish Recipes" by Ania Zaremba.

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 pound unsalted butter
2 egg yolks
4 tablespoons sugar
3 oranges
1 lemon
1/3 cup water
2 cups sugar

Instructions
Make a well in the flour and add butter, egg yolks, and sugar. Quickly knead together. Roll out the dough until 1/2 inch thick and place on a buttered pan. With a fork, poke holes in the dough and bake at 350 F for approximately 15- 20 minutes. Wash the oranges and lemon well. Do not peel them. Cut in half and remove pits. Grind the whole fruits in a food grinder. Combine with sugar and water and bring to a boil. Simmer approximately one hour, stirring frequently, until thick. Cool until warm, and spread over the cake. Decorate the top with walnuts or almonds.
